STOP STEM CELLS EXPERIMENT ON THE DEAF BABIES?

After reading everything on this petition site Concerned Citizens For Disability Advocacy Blog will not and does not support this petition nor ever will and here is why.

This valuable Stem Cell Research could potentially help millions in the future. Why would anybody in their right mind want to stop research that could help others in the future unless they have some hidden agenda or selfish motives?

What next are these same people who are pushing this petition going to push for laws to take away these same types of children from their parents who are trying to help them or want to help them so others can be helped in return?

What a sad nation and a society we have become when the gift of helping others is being silenced if you will by this exclusive group pushing this petition.

It truly sickens me to no end.

I am the Owner/Administrator of this blog and also a full supporting member of ALL Stem Cell Research that can, could or might even give a glimmer of hope to anybody who might benefit from said research.

In layman's terms I consider myself a True Member of the human race.

God gave us a brain and intellect to work for the betterment of all of the human race not just a select group of individuals.

In giving us that intellect come responsibilities to to our fellow humans to ensure they can enjoy a quality of life as they so choose or as their parents so choose as is in this case of these infant children being allowed to be participants in this type of Stem Cell Research.

Last but not least if you cannot post with your real name what does that say about your own integrity because at the end of the day that is all you really have is your own name and integrity to stand upon.

As a Deaf writer of this petition, I am surprised to learn that Concerned Citizens for Disability Advocacy will not and does not support this petition. I will say "I as Deaf citizen do not support stem cell experiment on the Deaf babies and am extremely proud to be DEAF with God-given hands to communicate in American Sign Language which I cherish. I tell you I do NOT need this cure to make me a HEARING. If you think this cure should turn Deaf babies into hearing babies. That is "Steford Wives" sydrome.
I ask you and the hearing society to leave Deaf babies and Deaf community alone. We, the Deaf community do not need the cure. You forget that God have the purpose to make us as Deaf people and let us live with the diversity!

Karen Kingrey while I respect your views and opinions the fact remains that you nor your organization nor any organization nor person speak for each and every Deaf Citizen of the entire world.

If everybody was of the same mind as you obviously are this Stem Cell Research Project would never have gotten started would it?

The facts remain there are obviously Deaf Citizens who do not think such as you do. Thank The Lord for that simple yet factual thing.

One other thing I notice that bothers me about the Deaf Community since you brought this up is your choice of words in your posting of "let us" now once again I know you cannot possibly speak for the entire Deaf Community as a whole but only for those of a minority if you will on this issue.

When I see multitudes of news paper articles across the entire globe stating a global wide stance that you speak for everybody then I can possibly be persuaded to change my view points.

This blog will continue to support ALL Stem Cell Research at ALL levels of society for the betterment of ALL humans.

That is only the right thing to do until it is proven beyond a shadow of any doubt that Stem Cell Research is not productive.

I think the fear and protest I am seeing now out of the Deaf Community is just that fear of the future and fear of the unknown which is a natural human reaction to things and or science not understood. We all go through it. I go through it myself daily as a hearing person.

My response to Chuck Dudley. You stated the Deaf community is just that fear of the future and fear of the unknown which is a natural human reaction to things and or science not understand.
I believe you have not research on the Deaf history. Maybe you do not know Alexander Graham Bell(AGB) was connected with the eugenics movement in the United States in 1883 and chaired 1912 till 1918. He was honorary president of the Second International Congress of Eugenics.
1920's: AGB established the compulsory sterilization and called them a "defective variety of the human race".

The issue is Karen Kingrey NO other group of Disabled Citizens that I have ever been around wants to be so exclusive yet at the same time screams for more inclusiveness and diversity inclusion than the Deaf Community and now that even more helps, research and other scientific findings are coming to light the Deaf Community you claim to represent pushes these new breaking discoveries away making yourselves look the more exclusive still.

Once again it is obvious you do not speak for the entire Deaf Community on this Stem Cell Research Issue or this project would NEVER have been started,
funded and have it's test cases to begin with. Obviously you only speak for a small minority of the Deaf population of this entire society.

I still respect your rights to do as such but as I said above it is obvious by all of the info you do not speak for the entire Dead Community.

Response to Chuck.
Suggest you to dig intoDeaf history and see why we as the Deaf People of USA still stand up and fight against the ignorant audists.
You do the disability advocacy. Wonder why you do not listen Deaf community very well.
When the Deaf babies enter this world, they seek love, caring, cherishing, acceptance, sign language, and freedom from oppressors and audists.
Give the Deaf babies the chance to live as Deaf human being than having their ears to fix to meet your hearing society's expectation.

Chuck Dudley Jr said...

So now you site this is all the fault of the "ignorant audists".

With those kinds of comments you are never going to win anybody's hearts and minds on this issue.

Once again never in all of my life as being born Disabled have I seen one group of Disabled Citizens such as you claim to represent act in the manner nor present things nor post as you just did and now trying to put the blame on "ignorant audists".

It really makes me to wonder just who is discriminating against whom when you say such things and label an entire class of society in that mannerism.

I am very appalled at that phrase out of another Disabled Citizen.

Very shameful behaviors.Very shameful.

Response to Chuck. You may not be aware that I have been advocate for the Rights with People with Disabilities for the years and worked with them at Independent Living Center for the Disabled.
The staff at Independent Living Center knew I fight for the rights of Deaf people for the years.
The Deaf community have not forget what Alexander Graham Bell, educators in oral schools, and medical professional did to us and still are trying to destroy the Deaf community with their false propaganda. They insert the false propaganda in the minds of hearing people.
Chuck, I hope you understand where I stand. I want to see the false propaganda end.

Well Karen Kingrey with you and potentially others using commentary like "ignorant audists" nothing will ever end due to your ongoing use of that term at any time and any where you so choose.

Once again using that term WILL NOT win you any hearts and minds. I guarantee you 100% it will not win mine nor other Disability Advocates I work with daily.

My background as growing up since birth Disabled also includes my own father who became Disabled due to Polio and having to help him and watch him go through that as I grew up. This also includes my mother with Metal Illness too.

Talking about learning to live independently? I lived it daily Karen Kingrey.
